Longhorn is the project name of Microsoft’s sequel to Windows XP and the coming operating system is expected to literally rock our worlds. Unfortunately Longhorn has been cursed with several delays and it isn’t expected to be launched until at the end of 2006. Jim Allchin at Microsoft has in a conversation with Fortune’s writer David Kirkpatrik revealed that Longhorn’s primary task is to simply function. It seems ease of use and automatic is the keys. Something that can be both good and bad. They simply want to make the work done via the computer as efficient as possible. We hope for the best but for now we just keep our fingers crossed so that we will se Longhorn as soon as possible.
