Mac OS X has been relatively free from viruses and adware, a lot because there aren’t enough users to make it an interesting target, while at the same time it’s based on UNIX. The Register now reports about the creation of iAdware, which could be a possible annoyance for Mac OS X users. By using a weakness of OS X the program can be executed without the user’s approval. iAdware is not a real threat though, but mainly, like most adware, really irritating.
