Macromedia Flash 8 – web video

Flash 8 will be launched next month by Macromedia and the latest version of the graphic system Flash might be direct competitor to Microsoft, RealNetworks and Apple that offers format for Web video. Flash 8 will namely get an updated video-feature with a new codec from On2 Technologies called VP6. Flash’s video properties will be very easy to access, which is more than you can say about the rest, since it won’t require a mediaplayer. At the same time the competitors are saying that Flash is missing some vital components, such as DRM support. Which perhaps isn’t such a big loss according to many.
