Matsushita, better known as Panasonic, is one of the companies that have chosen to bet on the Plasma Display Panel technology and according to a survey published by iSuppli Matsushita has reached a market share of 37,3%, followed by LG (24,2%), Samsung (21,1%), Fujitsu Hitachi (10,7%) and Pioneer (6,8%). Although, both manufacturing and the sales of Plasma TVs haven’t been able to keep up the pace of the LCD technology and have been losing market shares. Times have been tough for both panel and TV manufacturers and the prices have been cut time after time and is expected to continue down. Not just because of the hard competition, but also because of lower costs thanks to more efficient and cheaper manufacturing processes. Unfortunately, Matsushita is also the only manufacturer that have any near-future plans to expand.
