Maxtor will, as we earlier reported, be acquired by another manufacturer, Seagate, soon and now it seems that Maxtor is getting ready to merge with Seagate by firing 900 employees in Singapore. The people affected by this are workers from its plant as it after several hard months has to cut costs and lower the manufacturing volume. Whether this is a part of Seagate’s plan plan to take over the company is hard to tell as Maxtor as a brand will disappear and become a part of Seagate’s infrastructure, which in turn means more changes will be made later on.
