Windows Vista took five years to complete and launch, but it seems Microsoft intends to work a lot faster up until the launch of the next operating system. Code-named Vienna, the next generation Windows will be launched already in two years, according to Microsoft. Microsoft has pointed out that this is a completely new operating system and not the previously rumored Fiji, which is a service pack for Vista. Even if it was unable to reveal what features Vienna would sport, a completely new user interface is in the works. This would mean that there will not only be cosmetic changes to the interface, but also the layout and thus use of the interface will be changed. If Microsoft will be able to stick to its schedule we’ll just have to wait and see.
