The possiblity to chat with people using other Instant Messenger protocols than you do is a highly wanted feature today. There are way too many IM protocols today and even more clients supporting these. Microsoft and Yahoo! has been working for some time trying to open up their respective networks and recently they did open up this possiblity with these two IMs. MSN Messenger and Yahoo! users will now be able to chat with eachother without having to create an account on each network and then use some sort of third part client such as Gaim, Trillian or Miranda. All in all this means that over 50 million people will now be able to chat with eachother using these two protocols.
