A few weeks ago, we announced that Microsoft soon will release a few new mice, and by then, rumours of new mice properties where already circulating.
Now, Microsoft has presented their “Tilt Wheel”, which is simply a scroll wheel that can be tilted sideways to scroll in the indicated direction. According to Microsoft, the demand for horizontal scrolling in Windows has increased and they now want to give their customers this possibility. Digit-Life.com has found a presentation on the Japanese hardware site PC Web, where Microsoft explains this new technology.
There is still no real clarity in exactly which mice that will utilize this new scroll, but we will surely see these in a not-so distant future.
