Logitech, the world’s most prominent manufacturer of keyboards, mice and gaming peripherals, have for long been rumored to be acquired by software giant Microsoft. Microsoft hasn’t been able to beat Logitech in the peripheral market, so instead, rumors started going around that Microsoft would simply buy Logitech. According to a recent statement made by Logitech’s chairman, this makes no sense and it would lead to Logitech losing all pressure to be innovative if it would be acquired by Microsoft. At the same time, antitrust authorities would most likely go against the acquisition as the two would become almost monopolistic on the peripheral market.
