Microsoft has as you perhaps know had a rough time getting a foot in on the Japanese market. One of the reasons can may very well be that it has only offered the more expensive version that comes with a harddrive and bunch of accessories, but now AP reports that Microsoft will launch the cheaper version too to try and get things moving. So far the software giant has sold only 158,000 consoles in Japan, according to Enterbrain Inc., and 5 million units worldwide. The situation in Japan will thus most likely be the exact same later on with Microsoft as the ever lasting third behind the two other, which of them that will come out on top remains to be seen though.
