Microsoft knew that the Japanese market would be the toughest one for its new video games console Xbox 360. The preceeding Xbox had some serious problems as the Japanese preferred the native brands, Sony and Nintendo, while a majority of the games from the latter two was much better suited for the Japanese market. Before Xbox 360 was launched Microsoft tried to tie up some new connections through some of the best game developers in Japan, but this has so far been of little help. Microsoft has now announced that it will tripe the number of games in Japan before the end of the year and many of these are suppose to be specially designed for the Japanese market.
“Our message is this: We’re prepared to do everything that’s needed to make Xbox 360 a success around the world, including Japan,” said Takashi Sensui, who became the head of Japan’s Xbox operations this month.
