Microsoft has received a lot of criticism from security companies becuase of its tactics of not letting these into the core and even making it really hard for these programs to work adequately or simply making them redundant. It’s hard not to see the irony of an operating system that is too secure, but at the same time one can almost smell the sour grapes the security companies must be tasting as they’ve all of a sudden have become obsolete. Over at OSWeekly they’ve published a column where they discuss Microsoft’s and McAfee’s positions on Vista. Interesting reading which raises a few questions.
