Microsoft Zune seems be close to becoming reality now that Engadget reports that the player has appeared at FCC’s website, Federal Communications Commission, where several “inofficial” gadgets have been revealed through the years. Microsoft has not been the company behind the submission but Toshiba is the company that has submitted what seems to be Microsoft’s first portable media player. Under the name Toshiba 1089 it has published information about a PMP unit with wireless technology, 30GB HDD and an FM tuner. The display we’ve been hearing so much about measures 3 inches but there are no details regarding the resolution or the amount of colors. In the material published by FCC the name Pyxis is mentioned which seems to be the name of the internal network the Zune players will be using to share material. But the main thing are the loads of pictures, both in the test bench and dissected. Microsoft Zune seems to be coming and Toshiba seems to be Microsoft’s hardware partner, now we just have to wait and see how the market will react and receive the new player.
