Microsoft recently released its fall update for Xbox 360 and with the new software we can find both support for 1080p and information about sharing music with Microsoft’s Zune media player. Just as expected Microsoft also decided to sneak in code which would go after all of the modified Xbox 360 consoles which is used on Xbox Live. Unfortunately it seems that the code was a bit too generic as about 1% of all Xbox 360 consoles gets an error message when they boot up, even though they haven’t been modified for playing copied games. According to some reports this has happened to consoles which Microsoft has repaired. Exactly what Microsoft’s “anti-mod code” does is uncertain, but what’s obvious is that isn’t as precise as it is should.
