För ett tag sedan rapporterade vi om hur svenska företaget Mionix lanserade två stycken möss för gamers, Saiph 3200 och Saiph 1800. Det var inte vilka möss som helst utan två möss med specifikationer helt i klass med de möss som man normalt ser rekommenderas gamers emellan. Mionix har nu annonserat att deras version av musens bästa vän, musmattan, kommer att lanseras under DreamHack Winter 2008. Alioth 320 och Alioth 400 är både tygmattor med en härdad yta för minimal friktion.

Mionix launches Alioth 320 and Alioth 400 @ Dreamhack Winter 2008
Växjö, Sweden – October 28th, 2008 – Mionix, manufacturer of high quality gaming gear revealed today that they will launch the mousepads Alioth 400 and Alioth 320 at the upcoming event Dreamhack Winter 2008 in Jönköping. Mionix is a new manufacturer of gaming-gear and was founded in the beginning of 2007. Their goal is to develop high-quality gaming-gear with suitability for all kind of gaming.
Alioth is another name for the brightest star in the constellation Epsilon Ursae Majoris. Alioth is about 81 light-years from Earth and rotates with a speed of 38 km/s. According to Mionix the mousepads got their name after the star Alioth because it is the brightest in the whole constellation.
Alioth 320 and Alioth 400 are made of cloth with a coated surface to minimize the friction between the mouse and the pad. The mousepads have been developed and tested for both optical and laser sensors. Alioth comes in two sizes, Alioth 400 is made to fit players with low sense and wide movements and Alioth 320 for players with higher sense and smaller movements. The back of the mousepad is made of a of rubber-mix to enhance a firm grip. The dimensions have been carefully chosen to fit the requirements of gamers around the world according to Mionix.
