During the weekend we reported on the world record in 3DMark Vantage set by overclockers Sampsa and Stummerwinter. Together with ASUS and Intel they set a new official Vantage Performance world record with P44443 points. They later managed to improve this to P47002 points using unverified graphics card drivers, Catalyst 9.12. We now have more information on the world record and some more details on the ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard.
We have gotten our hands on some additional specifications where we clearly see that ASUS has spent a lot of time perfecting the power supply, but not just for the processor but also the graphics cards.

Improved power design for multiple graphic cards, make it possible to achieve higher overclocks than before
Turn on/off PCIex 16X slots for diagnostic purpose
LN2 mode for best possible environment when running extreme negative temps
With a processor clocked at over 5.5GHz and four graphics cards with GPU clock frequencies of 1300MHz each, things can only go right.
Impressive clock frequencies usually result in impressive records
