We recently reported about NVIDIA’s new Quad SLI that will be used with Dell’s XPS 600. The system consists out of two cards with two circuits each but unlike ASUS solution they’ve chosen to use four PCBs all and all, one for each circuit. One might believe that four 7800GTX circuits running in SLI should consume a lot of power and one would be right to believe so. Legitreviews asked NVIDIA how power the system was consuming and the answer was quite astonishing 850W. They’ve chosen to solve this with 300W from two external power supplies at 150W each. What will this beast cost when it arrives? Dell is estimating between $7,000 and $8,000. Source: legitreviews
