Now Anandtech have put up their review of nVidia’s new graphic chip: The NV31 and the NV34. The cards are called GeForce FX 5200 Ultra and GeForce FX 5600 Ultra as we’ve mentioned earlier. To judge by Anandtech’s results, the Radeon 9500 Pro is by far much better than the 5600 Ultra. The 5200 is a little bit better in comparison to the Radeon 9000 (9100 and 9200 too), especially when FSAA/Aniso is activated. One of the problems Anandtech writes about is nVidias implementation of anisotropic filtering. Though, nVidia has ensured Anandtech that these problems will be solved “when NV35 is released” which doesn’t sound very promising.
