Already before the end of 2008 many component manufacturers and system builders started to prepare themselves for a decline in order volume and new reports suggests that motherboards will drop significantly in Q2 2009. They expect the number of shipped motherboards to drop by 10-15% compared to first quarter. Motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte says that the demand will start to drop before the end of March already and that several customers are waiting to order more motherboards.
