Linux is starting to show up pretty much anywhere you least expect it to and now more and more cell phones from Motorola with Linux are showing up and the latest is a model in the mid segment, E895. Perhaps that it isn’t a top of the line model is the most interesting part of the phone as Motorola seems to broaden the use of open-source software. E895 will hit the stores in Asia during Q4 and Linux-based phones in the mid segment will be massintroduced at the end of 2006 or at the beginning of 2007. More than half of Motorola’s cell phones will be based on Linux within 18 to 24 months. Source: News.com
