MPAA violate copyrighted material

Small preview imageMPAA, Motion Picture Association of America, is an American lobby organization that represents the movie industry and it is working on stopping illegal filesharing and the use of copyrighted material. MPAA has been criticized more than most other organizations (maybe not as much as the RIAA), mainly because of its acting in certain cases. It has now managed to act quite ignorant as they’ve neglected to live by its own rules. MPAA has namely used a blogging software and violated the copyright agreement. Even if Forest Blog, which is the program in question, is free of charge there are certain criteria you have to live up to. Criteria that MPAA has simply ignored and in short violated the copyright of the program.

If you don’t want to pay the 25 USD, which is the business fee of the program, there has to be clear information on the site about what software you’re using and who has developed it. This information has been methodically removed by MPAA, perhaps to not reveal that it is using a free software, which has lead to the fact that it is violating the copyright of the program, something it is propagating strongly against on its own website.

How this matter will be handled remains to be seen, but we can certainly imagine that there are more than plenty of people that wouldn’t mind suing MPAA for its ignorance.
