MSI has officially launched the new flagship of the GeForce GTX 460 series. MSI GeForce GTX 460 Hawk comes with a custom circuit board with better power supply, new cooler and tweaked clock frequencies.
MSI ships from factory with 780 MHz GPU clock, while CUDA cores and the 1GB graphics memory operates at 1560 MHz and 3600 MHz respectively, which can be compared to med NVIDIA’s reference of 675/1350/3600 MHz.
MSI has chosen to use 7+1 phases and military grade components, which together with measuring spots for voltages should result in good overclocks. To further optimize the overclocking MSI has made it possible for users to alter voltages for GPU, memory and PLL separately. GTX 460 Hawk will be the first graphics card to support this through Afterburner 2.0.0.
MSI GeForce GTX 460 Hawk also ships with the more efficient Twin Frozt II cooler that is 18℃ cooler and 8.1 dB quieter than the reference.
