MSI lauched the GeForce GTX 460 Hawk earlier this week. A graphics card sporting the NVIDIA GF106 GPU in a costume tailored for overclockers with more efficient cooling, better power supply and advanced settings for the latter. Already the card has reached 1 GHz GPU clock without mods.
MSI GeForce GTX 460 Hawk has been pushed to 1001 MHz using the voltage settings found in 2.0.0, while the GDDR5 memory was overclocked to 4900 MHz, which is a lot higher than the factory clocks of 780/3600 MHz.
Renowned overclocker Hazzan has published a number of results with both 3DMark06 and 3DMark Vantage with MSI’s new graphics card clocked at 1 GHz GPU with no mods and the original cooler.
The results are very promising before future experiments, which we hope to share more of soon.
