MSI GX-600 is one out of many laptops on display at Computex and even if a laptop from 2007 and a 386 from the early nineties are hardly much alike, the GX-600 and the old 386:s actually has one very specific feature in common. MSI has namely revived the the classical Turbo button, which we’re sure more than a few of you remembers. Under the hood of the MSI GX-600 things are a lot different though, as it is built on the Santa Rosa platform, which through the Turbo Drive Engine technology can be overclocked by 20% through the push of a button. The Turbo feature simply raises the processor us by 20% from 800MHz to 960MHz, which should improve the performance significantly.
MSI GX-600 seems to be an overall well equipped computers as it comes with GeForce Go 8600M GT, 15.4″ display and 802.11n wireless networking. The Turbo features can not be used when running on battery though.
