MSI RX2600PRO-T2D256Z/D2 is actually the first of the newest generation of graphics circuits from ATI to be released with the much older AGP interface. Thanks to a PCIe-AGP bridge chip, MSI has been able to convert this mid-range circuit to the outdated, but still fairly common graphics card interface. For once the AGP version is actually clocked just as high as the PCI-Express cousin. Usually manufacturers reduce the clock speed of the AGP cards, but this time MSI has kept the frequencies at 600 MHz core and 800 MHz GDDR2 memory. DirectX 10 is now available to the AGP users, although in the shape of a card based on a chip that has been far from showered with praise and awards.

Along with DirectX 10, there is also support for HDCP and a completely passive heatpipe cooling. This is actually better than the PCIe cousin that has an active cooling solution. The price is expected to be about the same as current Radeon HD 2600 Pro cards.
