Motherboard manufacturers have started to look for new challenges for Intel’s Core i7 platform while waiting for Intel’s chipset updates. Intel X58 is built, just like the Core i7 processors, for enthusiasts and demanding users that often use full-size systems. But the PC market have started to move toward smaller and smaller formats and both ASUS and DFI have launched enthusiast X58 motherboards of microATX format. Component manufacturer MSI is apparently ready to follow with its MS-7593 cards.
MSI will not focus as much on overclocking and enthusiasts and compared to ASUS and DFI it will keep a more toned-down profile. MSI hopes to lure consumers with dual PCIe x16 slots with CrossFireX support, 6x DDR3 memory slots, 8 channel audio chips and a bunch of SATA connectors.
A photo has appeared at Japanese hardware site PC Online, but if this is the final design remains to be seen.
