MSI has released two new motherboard with the Hydra chip from LucidLogix. MSI P55A Fuzion and MSI 870A Fuzion has been in the news before, but they are finally here supporting all kinds of multi-GPU configurations.
As you most likely know the Hydra bridge chip can be used to connect graphics cards of different models and manufacturers to optimize 3D performance in games. The only way to mix and match graphics cards from ATI and NVIDIA and gain performance.
MSI’s new boards target the Intel LGA 1156 and AMD Socket AM3 platforms, and like previous Fuzion models MSI emphasizes the use of military grade components, 8+2 phase power supply with DrMOS circuits. Both motherboards ship with two PCIe x16 slots, USB 3.0, SATA 6,0 Gbps and passive cooling.
Prices are around 170€ for MSI 870A Fuzion and 220€ for MSI P55A Fuzion.
