MSI looks to be the next manufacturer to launch a superthin notebook. The motherboard manufacturer has been spending a lot of energy on the notebook market and is currently working on perfecting its new X-Slim series that was shown for the first time at CES in Las Vegas last week. The computer use a 13.3″ screen and weighs as little as 1.3Kg. On the thickest spot, X320 measures only 1.98cm and if you choose the 8 cell battery the computer can stay alive up to 10 hours. The X320 that was shown at CES uses an Intel Atom Z530 processor, but MSI will also launch models with Intel’s Pentium processors under the hood.
Unlike MSI X320 with the Atom processor that will cost less than $1,000, the prices for the Pentium models will be way above the four digit break.
Thin and thinner (X320 vs. MacBook Air)
MSI has fitted it with 802.11n wireless networking, mobile broadband (3.5G), three USB ports, VGA output and other goodies that should make most people forget about the few measly millimeters Apple has in its favor with MacBook Air.
