MSI Radeon HD 3870 X2 is expected to be unveiled at the start of next week together with the rest of the Radeon HD 3870X2 cards. The thing about AMD’s Radeon HD 3870X2 is that you can actually use two of them through CrossFireX, which simply means two cards with four GPUs working together. For the first time, AMD/ATI has a reply to NVIDIA’s Quad SLI and we’re eager to see which will come out on top (although looking at 3870 CF scaling we have a hunch…). We have one of the first pictures of a Radeon HD 3870 X2 CrossFireX system from MSI where two graphics cards have been connected with a CrossFire bridge.

There’s a slight catch to it though; no CrossFireX drivers. These are expected to arrive in a few weeks, but here we atleast have an exclusive look at an MSI-composed system.

The motherboards was first stated to be MIS’s new X48 Platinum boards, but it’s actually MSI K9A2 Platinum based on the AMD 790FX chipset.
