Small preview image

A while back we reported about how a user at Chinese forum Chiphell.com had posted pictures of a RV670 based card. Today another person has posted pictures of what seems to be an almost final revision of MSI RX2600XTX. Apparently MSI is the company that is closest to releasing a card based on the RV670, and according to this newly registered user at Coolaler.com the card will be named MSI RX2600XTX. Funny thing though, the PCB is very similar in size to the PCB of 2900 XT, but with only one PCIe power connector.

RV670 is built for PCIe 2.0 and will apparently have the same amount of shader processors as R600 (320), but a narrower memory bus; 256 bit. The overall core design has been slightly rearranged and according to some sources even cut down a bit. This particular card only has 256 MB memory too, but it runs at 900 MHz GGDR3. There will probably be 512 MB and GGDR4 versions too in the future.

Unfortunately he doesn’t reveal the GPU frequency. The driver identifies the GPU and memory as running at 600 MHz each, which are most likely the 2D clocks. RV670 is expected to hit at least 800 MHz in retail format. Below we’ve gathered some of the pictures posted at Coolaler.com;
