Moderkortstillverkaren MSI har nu skickat ett officiellt uttalande till NordicHardware angående den nuvarande situationen med Intels tillverkningsfel för sin 6-serie av moderkortsstyrkretsar. Företaget avslöjar att man fortfarande arbetar med Intel för att få mer information om problemen samt att all försäljning av P67- och H67-baserade moderkort samt bärbara datorer stoppats för tillfället.
“MSI has been informed by Intel about the design issues in the Intel 6 series chipsets. According to Intel the performance of some of the Intel SATA ports on Intel 6 series products can degrade over a period of 3 years. MSI takes the quality of our products very serious, so at this moment we are investigating product batches that may be affected and, meanwhile, have stopped all shipments to our distributors and resellers. Additionally, we asked resellers to hold sales of the Intel 6 series based MSI products to customers until the issue can be resolved.
At this moment we are together with Intel looking into a solution for customers who purchased an Intel 6 series based MSI product. As soon as we have more information we will announce this to our customers.”
Generellt verkar de flesta av Intels partners fortfarande arbeta med att få in all nödvändig information kring tillverkningsproblemen då inte minst det kinesiska nyårsfirandet ställt till problem för informationsflödet. Klart är i alla fall att MSI tar det säkra före det osäkra och fryser all försäljning av Sandy Bridge-baserade produkter.
