Wind PC seems to be the name of MSI’s coming sub-notebook, which will go up against ASUS Eee PC and other budget laptops. MSI presented Wind PC at CeBIT, but there are still some things that remains clouded. A couple of details has leaked and it seems Wind PC will sport an 8″ or 10″ display with 1024×768 resolution. It’s based on the Intel Atom platform and is being backed by a 2.5″ harddrive (SSD optional), and 1GB RAM. MSI’s sub-notebook will cost somewhere around $3-700 depending on configuration.
Wind will use Linux, but there are plans for a Windows version of Wind PC. This is just one out of many sub-notebooks coming over the next months, and maybe Wind will stand out with its slightly larger display, since most of these portables have displays in the 7-9″ range.
