The chip known as RV790 has been a bit hard to confirm. Inconclusive information has been posted, but they have not revealed much about the card itself. We still don’t have any exact specifications to share, except for the obvious that it is using GDDR5. But additional sources have confirmed the chip and others have hinted at a launch around the Chinese new year, which means early February. This matches what AMD has said before, that there will not be any new cards in January. We still don’t know if the card will be 40 or 55nm, but current stepping is A11. On a sidenote, RV740 is playing well and should launch soon, perhaps at the time?
