NAND flash has become one of the hottest technologies around where Samsung and SanDisk stand for the majority of the production. The competition between the two has grown even larger the last couple of months and the prices of NAND flash memory has been steadily going down. Fresh reports states that this will continue now that Samsung will counter price cuts from SanDisk. The prices of NAND flash memory has gone down by over 40% in 2006, the most with the 4Gbit chips: 56%. With continuing falling prices of NAND flash we are even more eager to see Solid State solutions and the first NAND flash harddrives. Source: DigiTimes
