NEC has now launched five new new plasma TVs. Even if three of these are o greater interest for industrial purposes we can’t help thinking they would fit nicely at home as well. The new XM series contains three models at 60″, 50″, 42″ and comes with a brightness at at least 1000cd/m2, which is twice that of top-range LCD panels, and a contrast ratio at 4000:1, twice here as well. This series also comes with the possibility to connect several of these together, up to 25 monitors together which would result in a 7,5m wide wall of TVs. Although, it has also launched two new models in its previously launched XR series.
The first model of the XR series measured 60″ and it has now broadened this with two smaller models measuring 42″ and 50″. The specifications of these are equivalent to those of the XM series and this simply because they all use the same energy efficient panel; Crystal Clear Panel. This new panel will above all reduce false contours and the power consumption while at the same time offer a better contrast ratio and color reproduction.
All models will be available today at regular NEC retailers.
