Small preview imageNetscape 8 has been launched in its final version and was made available today at Netscape’s official homepage. Netscape 8 is based on Mozilla Firefox 1.0.3 but uses both Internet Explorer and Firefox’s rendering engines to reach optimal performance and compatibility. Except for two rendering enginges Netscape 8 has its own user interface with among others an integrated RSS feed reader and improved security.

Netscape 8 has, just as Firefox 1.0.3, support for tabbed browsing. But also functions such as MultiBar for several toolbars and Form Fill/Passcard that remebers your passwords and information from forms you’ve filled in on various sites.

The new browser can be downloaded from Netscape’s homepage but is also available to purchase on CD-ROM.
