We’ve recently got information about two of Iwill’s upcoming SFF barebones which really shows some impressive specifications. For starters, we have the Iwill iMAX which we already reported about some time ago. The barebone has been delayed though, and won’t be launched until late November with a price set around €330 (excluding VAT).
Iwill iMAX is based on the i865G-chipset and is thus made for the Intel-market. Apart from the 865G chipset’s general features and properties the Iwill has got some interesting news. TurboJet is Iwill’s answer to, among others, ABIT Game Accelerator and accordingly it is a setting which increases performance for the springdale chipset, kind of similar to the 875-chipset’s PAT-technique.
The cooling technique they are using for this barebone is called iMAX GFX and it combines, among other things, heatpipes with fantunnels.
250W PSU, dual Ethernet (Intel GigaBit LAN and 10/100 Mbps), mini PC-slot for wireless LAN Access Point, USB 2.0, FireWire, SATA, and a 7-in-1 flashcard reader are some of the very interesting features the iMAX will offer. Apart from these features, its design will allow graphics cards which takes up two expansion slots which can be useful, especially for you nVidia fans. As mentioned before, we have to wait until late November for this barebone, but the specifications really looks promising.
The other barebone Iwill is presenting new information about is their follow-up to the minimal barebone Iwill ZPC. The forerunner is based on the 845G-chipset and was probably the smallest P4-system on the market when it was launched. Now the Iwill ZPC64 comes, which is the Athlon 64-model of the impressive system.
As a base in the system the nVidia nForce3-chipset is used together with an integrated graphics circuit based on the GeForce FX 5200 GPU. This vouches for even better performance, which really isn’t a bad mark.
This is probably the optimal choice for you who don’t have space for a larger system and wants the system to have a nice design and can live without any longer gaming sessions.
We will see the Iwill ZPC64 on the market by the end of December, and the price are yet unknown.
