Mozilla is in the middle of developing the next version of web browser Firefox. Firefox 3.5 offers a lot of news, but Mozilla has some great plans on the side of making Firefox 3.5. With the launch of the new browser it has decided to update the Fire Fox. The theme is the same with a fox tangled around the world, but with some more depth and 3D feel to it, to reflect the development of Firefox 3.5. Though it has more and far greater plans for its popular browser.

Firefox new logotype?

Mozilla is seeing the end of classic tabbed browsing. Letting the browser handle separate sites in different tabs was introduced by rival Opera but Mozilla was quick to lend the idea and has taken the concept to new levels.

Now that all major browsers support tabbed browsing, Mozilla has started to think of new ways to handle our advanced browsing habits.

“Tabs worked well on slow machines on a thin Internet, where ten browser sessions were “many browser sessions”. Today, 20+ parallel sessions are quite common; the browser is more of an operating system than a data display application; we use it to manage the web as a shared hard drive. However, if you have more than seven or eight tabs open they become pretty much useless.”

Most Internet users are using more and more tabs, which become a heavy burden for the browser, especially in small mobile devices. Beside looking at new solutions it has also started a design competition to let users submit new and clever ways of browsing the web.

The competition is called “Reinventing Tabs in the Browser – How can we create, navigate and manage multiple websites within the same browser instance?” and can be found at Mozilla’s website.
