New graphics cards

0

XGI (SiS stand-alone company working with the graphiccard manufacturing) has after many counts finally launched their new graphiccards. The new names we probably will hear about in a while are “Volari”. The cards will be available in loads of different configurations and the one which looks most interesting is the “Volari Duo V8 Ultra”. This DirectX9-compatible card doesn’t have less then 16 pixel pipelines. That’s double as many as the Radeon 9800 Pro and four times as many as the GeForce FX 5900 Ultra.

Not bad, and if we know SiS right the prices wont be scandalous either.

The card mentioned above will have up to 512 MB DDR2 clocked up to 1 GHz (on a 256 bits buss!) and apart from that the core will work at 350 MHz.

According to the specifications, it looks like this card will crush all existing cards. What is yet unknown is if XGI succeedes in making good drivers for the cards.
