Yesterday’s Apple press event revealed more than a few updates, and the most astonishing was the new line of iMacs. The new design in aluminum is even cleaner than the older models. The new models have been updated to Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo processors and are actually cheaper than the preceding models. The cheapest iMac now costs $1,199, which is $300 less, while the 24″ costs $1,799, $200 less. The biggest change is the design though and we have to agree with Jobs when he said that this was the most incredible computer desktop computer Apple has made.
The new iMac has a very sleek look and the monitor glass integrates perfectly with the aluminum front, no edges there. Rumors also says that the panels have been upgraded, but we haven’t been able to verify this.
The new iMac(s) can be had with a 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB 667MHz DDR2, 1TB of storage and ATI’s latest Radeon HD 2600 Pro with 256MB GDDR3. The lesser option is the Radeon HD 2400 XT with 128MB GDDR3. These kinds of specifications will cost you more than the standard prices of course.
As you can see Apple has managed to gather the connectors and they look quite nice. Clean.
The new keyboard isn’t exactly what the rumors and previous pictures have shown, but not far from it. The keyboard is indeed superthin and very much alike the one found on the MacBooks. Whether you like it or not, is a matter of personal taste. AppleInsider has more than a few pictures of the new keyboard, one of them can be found below.
