NVIDIA offers consumers wanting to run SLI a couple of alternatives. The previous high performance platform 590 SLI and the cheaper 570 SLI turned out to offer practically identical performance, at least as long as you didn’t use any more extreme measures. TechSpot has now tested the equivalents of today; 650i SLI and 680i SLI, and it seems history is repeating itself. In other words it’s difficult to motivate the extra $100 for a 680i SLI, at least as long as you keep the frequencies of both processor and graphics card within a pretty normal range.
