Nintendo is one out of few video game manufacturers that is actually making money on its new consoles and it seems that the launch of Wii is no exception. We’ve earlier reported about how Sony and Microsoft are losing hundreds of dollars on each sold console of the new generation. The manufacturing costs are simply higher than the sales price. Now that analysts have dug into the Nintendo Wii they’ve come to a completely different conclusion, Wii costs Nintendo about $158 to make, which would mean that it makes about $40 on every sold console.
In other words a big contrast to the competition. Nintendo has a big advantage with its lower price and even if Microsoft and Sony lower their prices they will not be even close, Nintendo simple has too much of a margin to work with.
