Nintendo Wii has been taking the critics with storm thanks to its unique controller with motion sensors and when Nintendo officially announced that the price of the console will be tops 250 dollar at the launch it was pretty clear that the price would not be a problem for a majority of the people. Nintendo and Sony are both based in Japan and have always had a strong support from the natives while Microsoft has been having a pretty rough time there. Despite Microsoft’s attempts to awaken any interest in Japan it is still hopelessly lost in the east as the interest is perhaps at best lukewarm. In a survey made by the Japanese magazine Famitsu Magazine we can read that only 7% of all the readers are interested in Xbox 360 while Nintendo Wii is the big winner at 68.8% of the total votes.

PlayStation 3 managed to collect 21% of the votes and the reason for the relatively cool interest in Sony’s well equipped console is pretty obvious from the rest of the questions. 88.4% says that PS3 is too expensive while only 10.9% belives it is just right.

Nintendo seems to have the upper hand on Sony in the east and even if Xbox 360 seems to be almost stiff the interest in an already launched console is always cooler than that of one about to come. The question is simply if Microsoft can use the upcoming months before Nintendo and Sony will launch its consoles to charm the Japanes consumers.
