Yesterday reports appeared that AMD had listed Athlon 64 X2 5000+ and FX-62 for both Socket AM2 and Socket 939. We mentioned that this may very well just be a printing error on AMD’s behalf and alas it seems we were correct. It has now announced that it had made a mistake in its processor listings and that becuase of the holidays this took longer than usual to correct. No surprisingly this means that Socket 939 will have to do with the processors that are available today and the question is if there will be any new models at all for AMD’s DDR1 platform, highly unlikely we say.
