Nokia has had a close cooperation with several Finnish Universities for a number of years now, where the University of Tampere has been one of the most prominent. The two have now announced that the university will become the center of Nokia’s new Innovation Center in Tampere. The basic idea is to have a free exchange of information and research, where they emphasize equal contributions. All in all, more than 70 researchers will be a part of the new cooperation. Tampere is the fifth university Nokia has teamed up with (after Stanford, MIT, Cambridge and Helsinki University of Technology). This is, according to Nokia, yet another step in Nokia’s ambition to be the leading company in mobile services and products, we can’t deny that we’re impressed by the investments Nokia are making.
