When we revived our old Folding@Team we first of all wanted to bring you, our readers and members, closer to us. Folding@Home is a very simple way of contributing to something bigger, especially as the only thing you need to do is run a small application in the background while you do your normal everyday work. We did not expect the kind of growth we’ve seen. Since the announcement at the start of the month, the team has gathered more than 1,000,000 points and completed more than 2700 work units.
The team produces close to 350,000 points per week. That is a work frequency worthy a team among the top 200. Nothing but impressive and it’s all your. The number of members are growing steadily and right now it seems that we will reach up among the top 1200 sometime early next week. That would result in every team members statistics being posted over at Extreme Overclocking’s folding site, which makes it much easier and not the least more fun for everyone who contributes.
On Friday we will announce the person who will get the first out of many prizes for his of hers contribution to Folding@Home. If you want to start contributing to Stanford University’s Folding@Home project you can read our previous reports where there is plenty of information on how to use your available resources of both graphics card and processor(s) in the best possible way. Don’t forget to enter Team number 122806.
