NordicHardware Folding@Home: Bjornsson named Patron of the Month

NordicHardware Folding@Home is working better than ever before. Just a few days ago the team achieved an all-time high of 121,391 points during one day after finishing 260 work units. At the same time the team is very close to reaching the top 250 and reach the 12 million milestone. Regularly we announce the Patron of the Month during the first few days of the month, but this time things took a bit longer. The reason for it is that the award took a bit longer than expected to arrive, simply because it has been a bit hard to come by.

The prize in question is Antec Skeleton, a so called “Open Air Case”. The construction is open, but not entirely unprotected. The picture below probably explains it best. The case has been selling over expectations and Antec hasn’t been able to get us a case before now. The man to receive it is no less than Bjornsson who has shown a burning interest for Folding@Home and in every way deserves it.

He doesn’t seem to have any real need for point producing hardware, which makes Skeleton a very suitable prize. It might take a while before we can pass it one, but we hope to send it at the end of the week.

During the days to come it looks like the team will climb another three position and thus break into the top 250. At the time of publishing the team is ranked 253 and has collected 11,890,169 points, and a daily production of around 110,000 points. Nothing but impressive for such a young team.

During the weeks that has passed I have been working on an article about Folding@Home that focuses on the illnesses that the project hopes to aide, some information on the project itself and statistics for various hardware. If you have anything you would like to see or know more about don’t hesitate to ask for it in the forum.

Until the article is finished we want to thank everyone that has contributed and hope that more will join the good cause. Fold on!
