nVidia seems to handle ATi’s statements and pressreleases on new technolgies and coming products quite calmly. ATi has been bragging about the CrossFire-technology’s good compability and unique features, but already before CrossFire has showed up on the market nVidia has countered with launching new SLI-drivers and extended the SLI-systems compability and features. Now it seems to do the same with support for H.264 playback, something ATI has been bragging quite a lot about, ATI’s R520 circuit will namely support hardware accelerated playback of H.264 video (codec for HD video). But R520 won’t arrive for another few weeks and now it seems nVidia will add support for H.264 in its ForceWare 80 drivers. Source: The Inquirer
