NVIDIA has been developing chipsets for quite some time, supporting both the AMD and Intel platform, but despite its ever growing capacity it has chosen not to makes motherboards of its own, unlike for example Intel. The venture “Designed by NVIDIA” program has made graphics card manufacturers wonder of NVIDIA will start manufacturing motherboards of its own. Through the program NVIDIA offers practically everything its partners need to know to make motherboards, which could very well mean that the giant is indeed capable of making them itself. NVIDIA has denied these rumors though and claims that its Designed by NVIDIA program was created so that it doesn’t have to manufacture boards of its own, but whether this is a trend that will continue remains to be seen.
