NVIDIA recently launched the first update of the flagship series GeForce 8800; GeForce 8800 Ultra. Although, the next generation graphics architecture is under development and NVIDIA’s next circuit, also known as G92, is starting to take shape. NVIDIA has revealed a few details of its coming graphics circuit architecture during a recent conference and even if they remain superficial it is still some very interesting information. First of all, NVIDIA claims that G92 will offer a performance at 1Tflop, the recently launched Radeon HD 2900 XT sports 470Gflop.
We managed to push AMD’s new flagship to 1211MHz, which resulted in a about 777Gflop, which means that G92 will be something tremendous.
Except from the performance indications, NVIDIA also revealed pieces of its launch plan, where it said that the flagship will arrive at the end of 2007 and the mid-range and budget models a quarter later. This means that we should see G92 around Christmas. Rumors says that NVIDIA will focus a lot more on GPGPU applications, which sounds quite believable with a circuit capable of 1Tflop.
